It’s the first story I’ve ever shared with the world, but not the first one I’ve written. It helped me connect to my earlier years when I started writing, and I hope it connects with you, too. Come, stay a while, and gorge on this wonderful story about Evon’s search for her truth.
My passion was always there, but inspiration came in pieces.
I began writing in third grade, lost in my imagination while the real world faded around me. I only had the pen and paper, no fancy tech. I created worlds and characters like Evon Dagmire, but academically I was unremarkable. The spark faded over the years, but some mysterious forces reignited that passion in these past few years, and The Lady Wind was finally ready.
Here’s a snippet of what you can expect from The Lady Wind, a story that puts the external and internal conflicts together, personified by Evon Dagmire.
In a time of endless war, Evon Dagmire ascends from her existence as a meager farm girl to the eminence of an entire nation. While the frontier world rests upon the verge of industrial revolution, Evon finds herself entrenched amid the political corruption of a treacherous bureaucracy.
Creeping just beneath the fabric of society is the prevalent denouncement of old-world sorceries and witchcraft. In this era of frontier justice, intrepid bounty hunters lurk within the shadows, in dauntless pursuit of such heretics.
When Evon’s own enchanted abilities begin to surface, she finds herself conflicted over her newfound fascination with the occult; while her scientific proclivities clash with this new world of marvel and mysticism. Even more enigmatic are her haunting dreams, and celestial visitations from a world beyond.
